Rising up to the top of Boston’s trendy Back Bay area lies an exclusive gem in the city.  When you glide up 52 floors in the elevator of the Prudential Center, you know you’ve made it to the top.  The Top of the Hub, that is.

This elite venue portrays class and sophistication through divinely gourmet cuisine and breathtaking views of Beantown’s one-of-a-kind backdrop.  Top of the Hub’s menu offers a delicious selection of American cuisine with Californian and Asian influences, putting prominence on “fresh regional seafood.”

Executive Chef Mark J. Porcaro is the talented mastermind behind these unique, delectable dishes, following a “cutting edge” philosophy when it comes to the latest fads in the culinary scene.  In addition to Executive Pastry Chef Tak Kuen “Tommy” Choi, thispowerhouse duo definitely takes every guest on a worthwhile and mouthwatering adventure.  Choi’s beautifully crafted desserts go beyond the exterior design.  Handle with caution, because they will have you craving more…and more.  Feel free to splurge on ordering not one, but a few desserts to share with the table, because this experience will be a memorable one.

The Hub starts every Sunday morning off with a chic Jazz Brunch, where you can select from many scrumptious appetizers, including Lump Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp with cheddar cheese corn grits lathered in an Andouille sauce, to a main course such as sinfully luscious Challah French Toast prepared with cinnamon streusel, strawberry and basil compote and mascarpone cheese.  Do you dare try the Coconut Cupcake for dessert to end Brunch on an even better note?  Made with a lavish raspberry filling and topped with coconut frosting, who could possibly resist?

In addition, The Hub is busy cooking up tasty delights for lunch and dinner every day of the week.  A must-try lunch appetizer and Joonbug favorite is the Brie and Walnuts, baked to perfection with dried fruit compote, and served with aged fig sauce and artisan double cream.  It is such a unique and delicious pick.  The Smoked Chicken Cobb Salad is simply refreshing for an entree, made with romaine lettuce, blue cheese, bacon, tomato, avocado, hard cooked egg and a drizzle of green peppercorn ranch dressing.  If you want to have a taste of one of the Hub’s specialty seafood catches, try the Open Faced Grilled Salmon Sandwich, prepared on a moist French baguette with honey mustard cream and sautéed leaf spinach.  As for dinner, you will not go wrong with whichever plate you choose to savor.  Although, we are partially biased and recommend considering a favorite dish: the Native 2 lb. Lobster A.Q. prepared with the Hub’s “traditional” Ritz Cracker and crabmeat stuffing.

Late Night Dining takes place in the Hub’s Lounge, with an accompaniment of dancing to the background of live jazz hits.  And if you’re looking to throw a glamorous bash in the Bean, Top of the Hub is without a question your ultimate venue.  The restaurant houses three intimate and exclusive dining rooms; one of them showcasing Boston’s iconic Charles River.

Just two floors below Top of the Hub presents The Skywalk Observatory.  On the 50th floor, feast your eyes on a “360-degree” perspective of the breathtaking Greater Boston area, in addition to both North and South shorelines.  This is a perfect treat to indulge in after your dessert, getting to know Boston on a personal basis through an “aerial” video journey Wings Over Boston, and the Dreams of Freedom Immigration Museum.

Top of the Hub is located at: 800 Boylston St., 52nd fl.
