You may recognize this charming venue by the vibrant red tomato, or “pomodoro” hanging over its entrance in Little Italy. Pasta e Pomodoro lies just near the end of Salem Street, somewhat of a hidden gem, tucked away from the touristy crowds of its parallel Hanover Street. The high glass windows set the tone for the venue’s unique and quaint charisma that it brings to each and every table. Pasta e Pomodoro never fails to set the perfect ambiance for an intimate night with a fine glass of vino and spectacular cuisine.

Upon entering Pasta e Pomodoro, you will notice a few tables, an open kitchen, colorful string lights draped over the bar, and the scrumptious aroma of Italian specialties simmering and sautéing on the stove. The interior is extremely romantic and cozy, perfect for date night. Eager passersby constantly glance in the windows, salivating over Pasta e Pomodoro’s one of a kind entrees set down on the elegant tablecloths.

Joonbug had the awesome opportunity to dine at this venue for Valentine’s Day. It was surely a romantic evening accompanied by a dimly lit dinner for two, and an unparalleled salmon pasta dish. We started the evening off with a freshly tossed Mixed Green Salad, perfect for two to split. This unique salad is not your typical mixed greens, as it incorporates a delicious and zesty Toasted Lemon Vinaigrette dressing, with juicy red tomatoes, carrots, red onion and sprinkled Parmesan cheese. The zesty Lemon Vinaigrette brings this salad to an entire new level, starting your evening off scrumptiously. Pasta e Pomodoro serves a variety of delectable appetizers in addition to salads, including a Hot Artichoke Spinach Dip, which is a creamy concoction of artichokes, spinach, cheese, accompanied by toasted bread, and Stuffed Portobello Mushroom that is stuffed with a cheesy medley of Romano, mozzarella and Parmesan, topped off with herb bread crumbs.

For the entrée, a recommended Joonbug favorite is definitely Pasta e Pomodoro’s Pasta Salmone, prepared with freshly sautéed salmon, artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes, tossed in a light lemon sage sauce. This combination of flavorful vegetables under a blanket of cheesy lemon sage is absolutely marvelous, creating an extremely savory adventure for your taste buds to relish. The sauce is creamy, yet delicate, and the salmon is sautéed to excellence. Other delectable entrees include Gnocchi with Mixed Mushrooms, incorporating three types of mushrooms with the gnocchi a sun-dried tomato sauce, Roasted Monk Fishaccompanied by creamy vegetable risotto in a luscious blanket of garlic confit sauce, Spinach Ravioliprepared in a garlic crème sauce with roasted red peppers and sautéed chicken breast, and many more divine options to choose from.
Pasta e Pomodoro is also open for lunch and takeout, serving up more delightful favorites, including Stuffed Eggplant, a juicy and cheesy Vegetable Melt, in addition to Grandma’s specialty, Spaghetti and Meat Balls.
