With National Tequila Day just around the corner, all urbanites should know the juicy lowdown…specialty cocktail scoop, that is.
I have the ultimate roundup prepared for Beantown to throw it down tequila style this Thursday, July 24th. This list of restaurants will be serving up luscious cocktail specials in honor of the occasion. It’s time to celebrate…
* Besito Mexican (75 Middlesex Turnpike, Burlington, MA)
This hip venue invites all to savor traditional Mexican flavors with their ‘Besito Favorito de la Casa Vertical Flight’ ($23). Your holiday will certainly not be complete without this awesome cocktail, which features Casa Noble Blanco, Clase Azul Reposado and Riazul Anejo.
Besito will also be serving Flautas de Langosta – a perfect accompaniment to your cocktail. This scrumptious appetizer highlights crispy rolled lobster flautas (rolled tacos), and is garnished with a refreshing mango chipotle salsa, queso fresco and cilantro.
* The Blue Ox (191 Oxford St, Lynn, MA)
The Blue Ox will be serving ‘Rockaway Beach’ ($11) to thirsty guests. This zesty cocktail gets its name from The Ramone’s song and is made with Espolon silver tequila, muddled lime & mint, homemade grenadine, green Chartreuse and Angostura bitters.
* Brass Union (70 Union Square, Somerville, MA)
Brass Union will be offering two savory sips spotlighting Espolón Reposado. Spice up your festivities with Brass Union’s ‘Esqueleto’ ($10), prepared with Espolón Reposado tequila, Luxardo Maraschino, house coffee reduction, chili peppers, lemon and passion fruit soda. The venue will also be mixing up the ‘Jumpman Julep’ ($10), which features Espolón Reposado tequila, orange & pomegranate juices, fresh pineapple and coconut foam.
* Estelle’s (782 Tremont St, Boston, MA)
Kick back, relax and stay true to the classics with Estelle’s ‘House Margarita’ ($9.95). This refreshing cocktail is prepared with Tortilla Gold Tequila, house-made sour mix, orange liqueur and salt.
* Haru (55 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA)
Haru certainly knows how to have fun with their tequila on such a festive occasion. Their ‘Naughty and Nice’ ($13) cocktail is a definite must-try, made with Avión Silver tequila, strawberry purée and muddled lime shaken with fresh jalapeño. Putting an innovative spin on your traditional margarita, the venue is offering a ‘Green Tea Margarita’ ($13), prepared with Patrón Silver tequila, Cointreau, sour mix and sweet green tea powder.
* Legal Harborside (270 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA)
Toast to tequila on the harbor with Legal Harborside’s three specialty cocktails. The ‘Top Shelf Margarita’ ($13) is made with Patrón Reposado Tequila, Cointreau, lemon juice and lime cordial, while the ‘Top Deck Margarita’ ($10 for single; $28 for small; $55 for large) is prepared with LSF barrel-selected Corazon Anejo Tequila, lime and triple sec. If you want to switch it up and add a non-margarita beverage to the mix, ‘La Bonita’ ($12) will surely delight. This cocktail is available on the second floor, and consists of Corazon Blanco, St. Germain, Peychaud’s Bitters, lime juice, grapefruit juice and a lime wheel.
* Legal Sea Foods (all locations) and Legal Test Kitchen (225 Northern Ave, Boston, MA)
Add a zesty flair to your holiday with the ‘Patrón Margarita Reál’ ($12), prepared with Patrón Reposado Tequila, Patrón Citrónge, freshly squeezed lemon juice and lime cordial.
* Pantry at The VERVE Crowne Plaza Natick (1360 Worcester St, Natick, MA)
For all margarita lovers out there, Pantry Restaurant is serving up the best of the best this holiday. Refresh and rejuvenate with their ‘Moderno Margarita’ ($10), which is made with Corzo Tequila, fresh lime and lemon juices, and agave nectar.
* Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake (384 Boylston Street, Boston, MA)
What better place to celebrate National Tequila Day than at the proud home to over 30 types of tequila? Poe’s Kitchen at the Rattlesnake has three cocktails prepared for tequila lovers, two of which scream Boston passion and pride. “The Dirty Water” Margarita ($12) is made with Herradura Reposado, Patrón Citrónge, three chile simple syrup, sparkling water and fresh lime. ‘The Bostonian Margarita’($10) incorporates Dobel Tequila, Gran Gala, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, prosecco float. Last, but certainly not least, is the venue’s ‘Cranberry Jalapeño Margarita’ ($12), prepared with Patrón Anejo, Drambuie, muddled cranberries & jalapeños and homemade mix.
* SKYBOKX 109 GastroSports (319 Speen St, Natick, MA)
‘Pink Angel’ ($10) will be your luscious, sexy date at SKYBOKX 109. This drink spotlights Gran Centenario Rose Tequila, Grand Marnier, Pomegranate Liqueur and pomegranate juice.
* Strega Waterfront (1 Marina Park Dr., Boston, MA)
Savor ‘Juan Too Many’($11) with friends at Fan Pier. Strega’s specialty cocktail is prepared with Patron Silver Tequila, Grand Marnier, melted sugar and fresh citrus.
