It’s the most wonderful time of the year.  Buffalo wings are cooked to crispy, juicy perfection, pints are a-flowing with the best brews in town and everyone proudly shows off their prized jersey.  IT’S FOOTBALL SEASON!

Boston area restaurants are on their serious A-game, prepared to kick off football season with tailgating specialties.  Every football fan can get hooked on this season’s exciting mojo in Beantown…because this city seriously knows what’s up when it comes to tailgating and football.  Check out my roundup of fun tailgating ideas, and get ready to kick off this season with a bang in Boston!

Brass Union

Brass Union is gearing up to dedicate every Monday evening to football.  The venue spotlights six 50-inch HD flatscreens for enthusiasts to fathom over, enjoying the game front and center from the bar or back at the lounge areas.  For those who are in the true game spirit, Brass Union has dueling shuffleboard tables…so gather up all of your friends!

Scrumptious food specials will be served for eager, hungry fans.  Guests will receive half-off these mouthwatering dishes to savor during the game (dishes are reflected with price discount).  The game menu includes: tasty Nachos prepared with grilled vegetables or chicken, sour cream, béchamel sauce and jalapeños ($5), savory Veggie Chili featuring sour cream, tortilla chips and cheddar cheese ($4), in addition to an all-time favorite tailgating preparation, Buffalo Wings, which are served with celery and blue cheese ($5.50).

Cask ‘n Flagon

Estelle’s Southern Cuisine

Every Sunday of football season, Estelle’s is ready to provide fans with a mouthwatering specialty to accompany the game.  The venue will offer a tasty bowl of Cracklin’s, which highlights pork, chicken, fried prosciutto, duck skins and green Tabasco kosho sauce ($6).  Relish a bowl of Cracklin’s while getting on your ultimate ‘south of the border’ tailgate grind.

Other savory fare will be offered for tailgating time, including the venue’s Hot-as-Hell Wings spotlighting wicked hot BBQ sauce and luscious buttermilk ranch dip ($10.95); Estelle’s Baby Back Ribs, which is a half rack rubbed & smoked to savory perfection ($19.95); and a selection of classic burgers.  Estelle’s features several flatscreen TVs and one of the finest selections of beer in Boston’s South End…so check it out!

  1. When I was in Boston over the summer, I was surprised to learn how great the food was at Cask and Flagon. I expected mediocre bar food, but it was really great. A pleasant surprise, for sure!
