With the merry holiday season quickly approaching, have your gift lists covered with the ultimate dynamic duo.  What’s better than cozying on up next to the fireplace with your favorite vino and a movie?  Add in some chocolate-covered strawberries to accompany, and you are set for an afternoon of strict pampering!

Sip, savor and snuggle…your holiday gift list worries are over.  I have wine and film pairing options perfectly designed for every family member, friend…and possibly a gift for you to treat yourself to!  Consider renting or purchasing our suggested flicks to accompany these spirit selections. Your gifts will be loved and appreciated by all!

1. Comedy + Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte Brut Réserve (SRP: $39)

This savory champagne has an elegant and clean taste, finished off with simply refreshing notes.  Savoring a glass of this bubbly makes good company paired with A Million Ways to Die in the West.  From the incredibly hilarious man who brought us Ted, A Million Ways to Die in the West spotlights a fearful farmer who falls in love with a new mystery woman in town.  You can only imagine how crazy and funny things get when the woman’s husband shows up in town – a renowned gunslinger.  This film will make your afternoon or evening complete with constant laughs.

2. Horror + Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir (SRP: $38)

What’s more appropriate than pairing a deep, complex red vino with vampires?  The horror film Only Lovers Left Alive features two vampire lovers, whose ages hold centuries, considering their roles in current society.  Fill your glass with Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir, whichhighlights enticing outlines of dark cherries, raspberry licorice, tobacco and spice.  This fascinating duo is certainly one for the books!

3. Food Lovers + Terrazas de los Andes Cabernet Sauvignon (SRP: $15)

Calling fellow foodies: this pairing is designed specifically for you.  In the movie Chef, Chef Carl Casper is fed up with the predominant owner of a top-notch restaurant in LA.  He takes on a new exciting journey by opening up a food truck…with none other than his ex-wife!  This adventure allows him to restore his passionate love of life and food.  Pair this movie with Terrazas de los Andes Cabernet Sauvignon to take this amazing rediscovery journey with Chef Carl Casper.  This wine spotlights notes of dark berry preserve, eucalyptus and mint.

4. Chick-Flick + Chandon Rosé (SRP: $22)

Be prepared to shed some tears and laughs with this duo. The Fault in Our Stars is a spectacular, heartfelt film based on the New York Times #1 Best Seller by John Green.  After meeting each other at a cancer support group, the two main characters, Hazel and Gus fall helplessly in love.  They were each diagnosed with different forms of cancer.  Watch with your girlfriends as their love story unravels…you will be hooked to the TV!  Chandon Rosé is there to help coax through the tears and laughs of this amazing film.  This staple glass of bubbly takes on a flirty pink color and intense taste of juicy watermelon and ripe strawberries.

5. Action + Newton Unfiltered Merlot (SRP: $58.99)

Captain America…need we say more?  The second part to blockbuster Marvel Comic, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will have every action lover instantly captivated.  Steve Rogers has a tough time adjusting to the part he plays in modern society, while fighting against a new peril from history long ago, the Soviet agent taking on the persona of the Winter Soldier.  While watching this movie, Newton Unfiltered Merlot is the perfect fit to get your intense, heroic fix.
