Fellow urbanites: clear your calendars for a trendy, must-attend affair taking place at the West Village’s Chapter One American Tavern. The venue will be hosting a Five Borough Beer Tasting & Dinner on Monday, February 23, from 6-9:30 p.m., celebrating New York City Beer Week.
Prepare your palates for a delectable five-course pairing menu, spotlighting regionally made beers from NYC’s five boroughs. New General Manager Katie O’Donnell (of Esca, where she pursued the role of chef de cuisine) and Executive Chef Warren Baird (also of Esca) have worked together to create an incredible menu that will seduce every palate.
The Five Boroughs Beer Dinner will begin on a soft and savory note with a homemade pretzel with apricot mustard, accompanied by ABC Easy Blonde (Manhattan) 4.7% ABV. 14-hour roasted pork loin will follow, complete with orange, salsify, mugolio and Szechuan pepper. Finback Double Session (Queens) 4.5% ABV and Flagship American Wit (Staten Island) 5.75% ABV complement the pork loin. Next comes Crescent Farms house duck sausage, spotlighting celeriac, toasted & spent grains, dried cherry and mizuna. The menu smartly pairs the duck sausage with Radiant Pig Gangster Duck Red Ale (Manhattan) 6.2% ABV and Gun Hill Frosted Hop Strong Ale (Bronx) 8.1% ABV. Of course, the dinner would not be complete without local NY cheese and roasted pear jelly – a savory and sweet combination that will impress all. Transmitter FX5 Saison (Queens) 7.7% ABV and Rockaway The Pharm (Brooklyn/Queens) 4.9% ABV are served with the cheeses. The dinner will come to a close when sweet seduction graces your taste buds – divine brown butter-almond cake with rye caramel, washed down with Bronx Imperial Rye (Bronx) TBD% ABV.
Chapter One’s Five Borough Beer Tasting & Dinner is priced at $75 per person (plus tax & gratuity). It is surely an event you don’t want to miss! To purchase your seat, click here.
